5 things to know about installing Camloc receptacles - An alternative way!

Rather than the well-known installation on the backside of a frame, most receptacles can be installed in a cavity on the upper side of the frame as well. 

Here are five facts we thought you should know about this alternative way to installing our receptacles:
 
1. Installing receptacles in this way is especially suitable for thick panels and frames as it reduces the required stud length. This benefits the customer as they are able to use more common lengths as the extra-long studs are not always available.
 
2. As there is only a blind hole needed with the frame rather than a through hole, this method of installation helps when tightness of the frame is an issue.
 
3. If there is no space inside the frame to install the receptacle or if there are other factors that prohibit a through hole (this is often the case with electric cabinets) this method of installation comes in handy.
 
4. This works with most standard rivet-on or screw-on receptacles as seen in our catalogue (Series: 5F, 50F 3700N type, 2600/2700, D4002, 991F).
 
5. Due to only the rivets or screws holding the receptacle the pull out force of the fastener connection is reduced. The dash length calculation will also be different.
